History

Not much history is known for the land and the surrounding land, but we were here on this investigation as more of a learning experience as we were looking into Isiah Nixon and we were hosting a large group for the location to help educate others in what we do during an investigation.

Investigation

As we arrived to the location we were accompanied by four guest investigators during the investigation that wanted to learn and enjoy the site along with. Automatically after grabbing equipment and explaining the rules to everyone, from Team Member Aaron from a video recording he took during the explaining of the rules at the very end someone says “Who are you?”. This question did not come from any of our guest as they were all knew each other plus this voice was very quick and monotone, none of us heard at the time. Going into the cemetery we had noticed a grave had been vandalized and this was reported to the local authorities after the investigation. We had setup cat balls along the grave yard and had found a lot of graves that were very old, we spread out looking for the grave of Isiah Nixon who had been killed by two white men for voting and as the first black man to vote in Montgomery County, Georgia. We took interest in this case as his death report says he was taken to Claxton Hospital which no longer exist, but this hospital was in Team Member Billy hometown which intrigued him into why they traveled that far for gunshot wounds, and as to be expected it was the closest colored hospital in that era.

We did in fact find his grave and set up for asking questions and taking pictures of the grave and surrounding areas as we conducted the investigation. We tried for a little over an hour and half with no luck of responses, not even in evp which caused some disappointment in most of us as we truly wanted to know the truth of what happened that day. We decided we would communicate with anything in the graveyard to still continue the investigation of the cemetery itself, and we did capture a really great photo from this which shows multiple faces in the grave yard. We then decided to check some graves that were unmarked and small which would suggest to be infant graves, and we had never attempted such so we did so, in this instance we were beginning to notice that Team Member Aaron was acting very strange and he later said that he could not hear us or understand us, something else was calling him as he started to walk away from the group towards the backside of the graveyard into the darkness. We all began to call out to him, which again he says later on that he never once heard us calling him even though we were only feet away from him when he started walking. Team Member Billy chased after him and routed him back towards the group, in which the group started saying they were hearing movement all around them and with this being way back in the wood, we started discussing the thought of either coyotes or maybe even a bobcat being out there with us and stalking us.

We started to retreat with our equipment back to the vehicles in which we traveled to the cemetery together, and we then setup the camera to watch the entrance as we all spoke together about the experiences. One of guest started to experience a very large head ache, and as we were talking about what was causing it a large noise is heard in the front side of another guest vehicle which two others reacted to the noise, but no one called it out at the time. We all decided it was best to begin to leave, later on in the night as we traveled back home, our two guest one of them being having the headache said as we stopped at a local gas station said the pain went away as we left which leaves to question was something beginning to affect her?
